Stream Stewards Wanted!
The Mississippi Adopt-a-Stream program originated in 1993. Since then, hundreds of stream stewards have made a difference in their watershed. Both one- and two-day programs are available to inform participants about watershed topics such as stream health, land-use, stream ecology, aquatic life and water chemistry.
You can become a water tester in your local area by simply contacting:
Land Trust for the Mississippi Coastal Plain at 228-435-9191
or
Mississippi Wildlife Federation at 601-206-5703.
We can plug you in to the next Adopt-a-Stream training class. With enough interest, we can even conduct a class in your neighborhood! Continuing Education Units (CEU) credits are available for educators.
